“The test knit process for this design has been exceptionally smooth, a credit to your editing skills! I was able to relax and enjoy my vacation without emails or questions about math or instructions and I can't tell you how much I appreciated that. Thank you again for your outstanding work!”

“Jen’s attention to detail is incredible and her ability to guide a knitter through the 'garment pattern process' in a gentle, kind, and knowledgeable way makes her quite approachable and truly a pleasure. I highly recommend her!”

“My experience working with Jen Hurley has been an absolute pleasure and enabled me to take my sock patterns (and business) to another level. Jen's extensive knowledge and skill as a tech editor is above and beyond. Her incredible attention to detail, her patience with the editing process and her ability to make me, the pattern writer/designer, feel understood and heard is outstanding. Jen is also very willing to share her knowledge and provide resources to make the pattern writing process as productive as possible. It's not just about getting the pattern done but helping me as a designer provide the instructions in a simple, clear and concise format. If you are in need of an exceptional tech editor, Jen Hurley is the one!"

for Proofreading

“Jen Hurley is a careful, thorough, and professional editor. I’ve been delighted to have her copy editor’s eye on a number of my patterns. She clearly has a great deal of experience with knitting patterns and I’ve been so impressed by her detailed notes and thoughtful responses to my questions. I’ve been working professionally in the fibre industry for over ten years and I can strongly recommend Jen as a great professional to make your patterns better!”

About

I work and knit from home in beautiful Portland, Oregon.Knitting has been my primary creative outlet since the mid-1990s and it became my primary vocation when I joined the team at Brooklyn Tweed in 2015. While at BT for six+ years, I gained a love for supporting customers with their pattern questions while managing Customer Service and honed my knitting pattern proofreading skills while serving as BT's Pattern Production Director. In 2022 I left to become an independent contractor and now absolutely love supporting independent designers with their work.Whether assisting others with their knitting designs or crafting my own, I bring an acute level of attention to detail to every aspect of my work. I strive to provide the most accurate support possible, always served with a side of warmth and care.
